The Democratic Left Movement is a a new Lebanese political party. It was constituted almost 3 years ago by a group of former Lebanese Communist Party members who resigned due to ideological disagreements.
The Leader of this party (Elias Atallah) became a deputy in the Lebanese Parliament as a result of the 2005 elections.

The Democratic Left Movement (DLM) seeks democracy and social equality in Lebanon and the Arab region. Founded in November 2004, the group's membership is open to all leftists – Marxists and non-Marxists – regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, sect or sexual orientation. DLM believes that group activism is imperative for the process of change. DLM believes that activism is based on a combination of two factors: the power of thought and interaction with the people from different walks of life. DLM seeks change through peaceful and democratic means and is totally and completely opposed to violence as a means for political ends or for settling differences.
